Prenatal Chiropractic Care
Pregnancy represents a time in a person’s life that is constantly changing. During this time the mother’s body is literally rearranging itself to support the life that it is creating. Chiropractic’s role in prenatal care is to support these physical changes experienced by the mother. By improving and maintaining the physical tone and function of the mother’s body we can help ease and support her through all stages of pregnancy, from preconception to after delivery.
A chiropractor’s role is to assess for changes to muscle tone and joint position. In the prenatal population, we use a specialized set of skills and techniques to ensure safety and effectiveness. One example is the Webster’s technique which specializes in the analysis, correction, and management of pelvic function which is critical in pregnant women.
Dr. Crandall is one of the only chiropractors in the county who holds a CACCP certification (Certified by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics) as well as an active Webster’s Technique certification. This postgraduate certification specializes in the chiropractic care and management of the pediatric and prenatal population. It is her passion to help mothers so that they may experience their best possible pregnancy, labor and delivery.
Some common presentations for women who may benefit from chiropractic care are: infertility challenges, sciatica, low back pain, headaches, muscle pain/fatigue, pelvic pain, and improving labor and delivery outcomes.
We know that prenatal and pregnancy care is a highly individualized process. Whether you are coming in for a problem-focused appointment or for general pregnancy support, we want to help you achieve your personal health goals.
